Qaida Noorani

Stage 1: Foundational Sound Awareness (Ages 3–4)

Focus: Build ear training, love of Arabic sounds, and familiarity with Qur’anic rhythm

  • Activities:
    • Listening to individual Arabic letters recited clearly by the teacher
    • Mimicking sounds through play-based echoing and chanting
    • Connecting Arabic sounds to visual symbols (Arabic letter cards, sandpaper letters)
  • Key Outcomes:
    • Recognize and imitate basic Arabic letter sounds
    • Understand the concept of a sound’s origin (makhraj) through sensory cues
    • Begin to associate Arabic letters with Qur’anic verses and identity

Stage 2: Letter & Vowel Mastery

Focus: Introduce short vowels and blended sounds systematically using Qaida Noorania text

  • Activities:
    • Systematic progression through Noorania lessons , starting with Arabic alphabet pronunciation rules
    • Practicing short vowels (fatha, kasra, dhamma) with teacher guidance and repetition
    • Listening to audio recitations and repeating with proper rhythm
  • Key Outcomes:
    • Recite Arabic letters with correct articulation
    • Apply short vowels to letter combinations fluently

Stage 3: Word Formation & Tanween

  • Focus: Strengthen fluency with compound sounds and introduce tanween (double vowels)

    • Activities:
      • Lessons 6–10 of Qaida Noorania focused on blending and double vowel sounds
      • Reading and reciting three-letter words with tajweed rules
      • Sorting activities: matching sounds to makharij groups (throat, tongue, lips)
      • Partner reading: students help each other correct articulation gently

Stage 4: Sukoon, Shaddah, and Advanced Rules

  • Focus: Teach complex pronunciation rules leading to full surah recitation

    • Activities:
      • Lessons 11–17 of Qaida Noorania, including Sukoon, Shaddah, and advanced makharij rules
      • Daily recitation exercises from Qaida with correction and praise
      • Interactive whiteboard or tactile games to identify tajweed symbols
      • Begin isolated word recitation from actual Qur’an pages with support

Stage 5: Transition to Independent Recitation

  • Focus: Fluently read from the Qur’an with proper tajweed using learned Qaida rules

    • Activities:
      • Review and reinforce key lessons from Qaida Noorania (18–20)
      • Qur’an reading sessions guided by teacher, with breakdown of verses
      • Vocabulary integration: learning meanings of commonly recited words
      • Practice surah memorization with tajweed correction and reflection
