Stage 1: Exposure & Emotional Connection (Ages 3–4)

Goal: Create a warm and joyful relationship with the Arabic language

  • Focus Areas
    • Listening to Arabic through songs, stories, and daily routines
    • Repeating common Islamic phrases (e.g. Assalamu Alaikum, Bismillah)
    • Using Arabic vocabulary for familiar objects: colors, animals, food
    • Movement-based activities and games with verbal cues

    • Visual aids with Arabic labels
    • Arabic corner and classroom routines in Arabic

Stage 2: Recognition & Response (Ages 4–5)

Goal: Begin understanding and responding in context

  • Focus Areas
    • Matching spoken words to pictures and objects
    • Identifying letters and Arabic sounds (beginning ,middle and ending)
    • Using phrases in role-play and peer interactions
    • Memorizing simple Quranic words and du’as
  • Environment
    • Sandpaper Arabic letters, Arabic-language puzzles
    • Group activities with call-and-response elements

Stage 3: Decoding & Expressive Use (Ages 6–7)

  • Goal: Read, write, and converse using simple Arabic

    • Focus Areas
      • Reading 2–3 letter words with short vowels
      • Writing basic words and labeling pictures
      • Speaking in short sentences about family, feelings, routines
      • Grammar basics: masculine/feminine, singular/plural
      • Understanding Quranic vocabulary with simple meanings

      • Word-building trays, moveable alphabet, interactive journals
      • Mini projects: “All About Me” in Arabic, classroom job charts

Stage 4: Application & Integration (Ages 8–9)

  • Goal: Use Arabic in academic, cultural, and spiritual contexts

      • Writing short paragraphs, captions, and reflections
      • Holding basic conversations on familiar topics
      • Reading short texts and Quranic passages with understanding
      • Grammar exploration: sentence structure, verb conjugation
      • Creating thematic projects (e.g. animals, seasons, prophets)

      • Language centers with grammar and vocabulary cards
      • Group presentations and Arabic storytelling circles

    • Daily du’as and Quran recitation in Arabic
