Toddler (2-3)

DCA Toddler Inspired Montessori  Program

Our full-day and part-day toddler classrooms are specially prepared environments that are designed to meet the needs of children. Maria Montessori studied and observed children in a scientific manner and she knew that from birth to age three was when a child’s brain develops most rapidly and they learn more than at any other stage of development.

By choosing a DCA Montessori education for your young child, you will be giving them the opportunity to grow and develop in a safe and nurturing environment with caring teachers who are formally trained in the Montessori Method at the Infant/Toddler level.

Toddler Curriculum at DCA Islamic Montessori

At DCA Islamic Montessori, our toddler program is designed to nurture each child’s natural curiosity and independence through purposeful daily routines. Grounded in Montessori principles, our curriculum fosters growth in all areas of development, providing a structured yet flexible environment where young learners thrive.

Each day, toddlers gather for circle time, engaging in storytelling, singing, movement, and interactive activities that support language development and social skills. During this formative stage, children possess an absorbent mind, eagerly taking in information through their senses. Our experienced guides carefully prepare the learning environment, ensuring opportunities for exploration, concentration, and confidence-building all at each child’s own pace.

Through observation, our educators tailor lessons and materials to match each child’s unique interests and abilities, encouraging their natural desire to learn. Our curriculum focuses on key developmental areas, including:

Language Development:

Expanding vocabulary, expressing thoughts and needs, engaging in conversations, describing images, and singing.

Self-Care Skills:
Toilet learning, hand washing, dressing, eating, and resting.
Environmental Responsibility:

Cleaning, organizing materials, dishwashing, and food preparation.

Fine Motor Skills:

Strengthening hand muscles through grasping objects, using utensils, and creating artwork.

Gross Motor Skills:

Climbing, balancing, running, spinning, and engaging in activities like easel painting.

Socialization & Empathy

Communicating with peers and adults, participating in group activities, learning manners, and practicing kindness.

Our Montessori approach ensures that toddlers develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning all within a nurturing, faith-centered environment.

A Nurturing Environment for Young Learners

At DCA Islamic Montessori, we create thoughtfully designed spaces where toddlers feel at home safe, comfortable, and empowered. Every classroom is arranged to encourage independence and exploration, with dedicated areas for movement, art, reading, and meals.

Our ensuite bathrooms feature     low toilets, sinks, and stand-up diaper changing areas, fostering self-sufficiency and ease. The environment is peaceful, orderly, and rich in beauty, incorporating real plants, fresh flowers, and curated artwork that engage children’s senses and inspire learning.

This purposeful design allows toddlers to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for their surroundings in a warm, Montessori-driven setting.

 Nutritious Snacks & Lunch

At DCA Islamic Montessori, we provide healthy, balanced snacks in the morning and afternoon to support children’s well-being and energy throughout the day. Lunches brought from home, ensuring familiarity and comfort during mealtime.

As a nut-free school, we prioritize safety for all students. Whole milk is served in our classrooms, and families who prefer an alternative nut-free milk or snack option may send these items from home for their child.
